INTEGRATE: TIME & SPACE

The Collection

The Integrate: Time and Space collection is product of a collaboration with Teixidors, giving rise to a range of exceptional handmade products.

The wool’s production process is traced from the farmer to the cleaner, securing a top quality raw material that, with just the right amount of washing, offers maximum warmth and naturally repels dirt.

These handwoven,100% merino wool textiles are available as: a blanket (180 x 220 cm), a throw (140 x 180 cm) and as cushions (50 x 50 cm). Dry clean-care is highly recommended.
Integrate:Time and Space collection was an opportunity for us to understand the peculiar process of weaving by hand. In this art, time and space become intertwined to produce singular fabrics at the hands of expert craftsmen and women.

The collection was first presented at Ventura Lambrate during Salone del Mobile in Milano in 2012. Later in the year it won first prize in the textile category at the ICFF Awards in New York.

Squares and Dark Squares

Squares & Dark Squares textiles are derived
from Zuzunaga basics, the square and colour.

In the design of these blankets, the various squares overlap, giving rise to dozens of different colours. What is the secret behind this result? Understanding how colours react to colours and accepting chance as part of the process, knowing that if you change one thread, you change the entire textile.
In Squares, the result is a colourful, springlike blanket. Dark Squares is the winterlike option. Oddly, it features black, something that is new for Zuzunaga and that makes it easier to unite and interrelate the various colours.

Quaternio blankets

Quaternio textiles are an evolution of Squares.

Quaternio textiles are an evolution of Squares. In them, the design goes from 42 squares to just four, zooming inward in a deliberate effort to reduce the pattern to four colour combinations. In doing so, they play with scale to centre and refocus the viewer’s gaze. Inspired by Jungian psychology, each Quaternio represents one of the four functions interacting within us: feeling (Quaternio Red), thinking (Quaternio Blue), intuition (Quaternio Green) and sensation (Quaternio Yellow).

Intuition, Feeling, Thinking and Sensation

Four forces of interaction

An evolution of Quaternio textiles. In them, the design goes from four squares to just one, zooming inward to reduce the colour palette to just a single colour. In doing so, they play with scale to centre and refocus the viewer’s gaze. Inspired by Jungian psychology, each of these throws represents one of the four inseparable functions of the ego: thinking, sensation, feeling and intuition.
